Liquidation auctions FAQs

We have lots of different online auctions which you can find here, and one of our specialities is liquidation sales. If you’ve never bid in an auction of this type here’s a little sneak sheet we’ve put together which should (hopefully) answer any niggling questions you might have on the topic…

What is a liquidation auction?

Liquidations take place for a number of reasons; the most frequent being business closures, end of stock/redundant stock sales or simply a company trying to make cash quickly. If you’re a business looking to source stock, a liquidation auction can provide a great option for this as there’s often loads of interesting stuff on offer in bulk. It can also provide a fast and easy service that allows you to move merchandise quickly, something our team of experts get their knickers (or pants) in an excited twist for!

How do they work?

What’s particularly good about liquidation auctions is they work in favour of both the buyer and seller; no matter what needs liquidating, you’ll always keep 100% of the hammer price. For buyers, you’ll have the opportunity to bid on an array of product at bargain prices – an exciting way to restock your business in large quantities for very little money. If you have goods to sell, take a look at our Seller Hub which contains loads of useful information on getting you selling immediately!

Can anyone buy the stock?

In simple terms, yes! As long as you’ve registered, the fun starts once the auction commences and the bidding is open for everyone. If you’re a true bargain hunter, keep your eyes peeled – with products sourced from retailers like John Lewis, you can have access to amazing branded stock at very low prices. Not to be sniffed at!

Do I need to register?

As with most things these days, we do require you to register to both buy and sell at auction. The good news is it’s a quick and simple process that takes you just a few minutes…and I can promise you, it’s worth it.

Do the items have reserves?

We don’t tend to have strict rules so as to keep the selling process as flexible as we can, so it will depend on the individual seller. As it’s not a requirement, this keeps things exciting as you’ll find a lot of items don’t actually have reserves which means a higher chance of bagging that anticipated bargain!

How does the delivery work?

If you’re lucky and are bidding on items near to home and can arrange to collect the goods yourself, well done! If not, you can arrange your own delivery using a courier of your choice so you can make sure delivery takes place at a time and place to suit you.

What payment method can I use?

Anything under £1,000 we accept card but if you’re one of the bigger spenders we would need you to set up a simple Bank Transfer. All details will be given to you once the purchase has been confirmed by one of our lovely team members.
