Top tips for perfecting your auction photos

If you’re all set to start selling and you’ve got your descriptions all set but you’re not sure where to start with your photos, then you’re in the right place!

Here’s how to smash your listing photos:

Do

- Take high resolution images.

- Have a blank or plain background.

- Take multiple photos from every angle.

- Ensure your photos are honest and clear. 

- Make your strongest image the first one you upload. 

Don't

- Don’t show body parts in your listing, like hands. 

- Have busy distracting backgrounds. 

- Try and avoid showing a mark/imperfection on your lot/s. 

- Only take one or two photos.

Showing any defects or imperfections will help your potential buyers decide to bid and how much they’re willing to stump up! If your item is brand new and boxed, make sure this is clearly on display, and likewise if it’s used and has a couple of marks. Make sure that your strongest image is the first one you list so it’s the main image in the catalogue. The images should accurately represent the condition and be clear for people viewing on smaller phone screens as well as bigger laptop/computer screens.
